Johnny Lee Banks' lawsuit after his penis was allegedly amputated

Alleged penis amputation spurs lawsuit

A man in Alabama is suing two doctors, a hospital and others, claiming he went in for a circumcision, but woke up to find his penis had been amputated.
Johnny Lee Banks' complaint says no one would tell him why that happened, or provide him with his medical records.

“Our client was horribly wounded and maimed during a routine circumcision," said a statement from Banks' attorneys, emailed to CNN. "He was not told of any possible complications of the surgery, nor has he been apprised of any reasons or cause that would necessitate such a drastic measure.  Our client was not consulted about amputation nor was he or his family given any opportunity to consent."

Shanesha Taylor says leaving her children in a hot car is something she wishes she could take back.

Taylor was homeless at the time and had gotten a job interview. A steady income would obviously mean everything to her and her family. So, when the babysitter fell through, she made the split decision to leave her children in her car in the Arizona heat while she did the interview.

2 moms charged under Tennessee drug baby law

2 moms charged under Tennessee drug baby law

Two new mothers in Tennessee have been charged with assault under a new state law that makes it illegal for mothers to do drugs while pregnant.  Eastern Tennessee police say 26-year-old Malory Loyola admitted that she smoked meth days before giving birth. In Memphis, 30-year-old Jamillah Washington was charged with assault after doctors determined her newborn baby was addicted.

The ACLU has announced that it intends to challenge the law. Opponents of the law say it actually leads drug addicts to not seek health services, and does nothing to offer help to addicts.
